At FVSSC, our Student Led Conferences are a powerful and meaningful alternative to traditional parent-teacher interviews. Instead of having a conversation about your child, the SLC puts students in the driver’s seat—leading the conversation with you and their Huddle teacher.
Held on the last day of Term 2 and Term 4, SLCs are a chance for your child to showcase their Semester Spotlight—reflecting on their learning, celebrating achievements, acknowledging challenges, and outlining future goals. It is a school day, so the expectation is that parents will book in a time with their student’s Huddle teacher (which can be video call), and students only turn up for their scheduled SLC.
The process builds lifelong skills in communication, leadership, self-awareness and accountability. It’s all about developing confident, capable learners who take ownership of their education—and who are proud to share their journey with you.
For more information or support preparing for your child’s conference, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s Huddle teacher, which can be found on their Compass timetable during House Valley Rally (every second Wednesday morning).
